About the Library
The Research Library of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP Research Library) was established in 2013 by merging five faculty libraries. It is housed in a modern building on the university campus. It provides library and information services to students and employees of the university, but also to the general public. The library fund specializes in documents and resources corresponding to the fields of study taught at the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. The library also includes specialized funds: the Austrian Library, the European Documentation Center, the CEPRONIV Methodological and Didactic Library, and the Globaleo Library.
The library provides:
• more than 335,000 books and journals (95,000 items are held in open stacks)
• access to electronic databases – (bibliographic, full-text)
• more than 200 study places
• 37 PCs with internet access
• 4 study rooms
• wi-fi connection for laptops, mobile phones, and tablets
• self-returning of books 24 hours a day
• copying, printing, scanning
The UJEP Research Library offers a large number of cultural and educational events. Author readings with interesting authors are organized throughout the year. Various exhibitions are held regularly in the library. The library periodically organizes educational seminars on EIZ (Electronic Information Resources) and how to conduct searches. At the beginning of each winter semester, short introductory courses focused on informational education are held for new students.
