European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is a European initiative aimed at developing infrastructure to support open science practices in research data management.
The implementation of EOSC in the Czech Republic aims to establish a national node of this initiative and promote best practices in research data management across scientific communities. As part of the National Data Infrastructure (NDI) implementation, a unified platform will be developed for sharing, managing, and accessing research data and computing resources. The NDI will support both disciplinary and multidisciplinary research activities and will cover a broad range of scientific fields and disciplines.
Key Elements of the Implementation:
- EOSC CZ Working Groups (PS EOSC CZ)
- EOSC CZ Secretariat
- National Metadata Catalogue (NMA)
- EOSC CZ Training Centre
- National Repository Platform (NRP)
- Integration of existing thematic/disciplinary data repositories into the unified National Data Infrastructure (NDI)
- Human resources and upskilling – support for academic and research institutions that are beginning to engage in research data management.
